Herndon Depot Museum was named after William Lewis Herndon, for whom the town was named. The museum features railroad memorabilia, and artifacts from local residents. The museum is from the 1850s and was a train station until 1968. Herndon Depot Museum is operated by the Historical Society of Herndon. The museum is open daily and admission is free. The Herndon Dulles Visitor's Center is located in the museum.
