This former 18th century wheat and tobacco plantation was the home of George Mason IV and today is a National Historic Landmark near Lorton and Fairfax in northern Virginia. The centerpiece of the estate, Gunston Hall, was built in the mid 1700s and is open daily from 9.30am to 5pm, except on public holidays. The hall features a museum shop and tours are available every hour.
